50 PLUS FITTER

Australia's Only Senior Specific Gymnastics Club
50 Plus Fitter delivers hour long classes dedicated to improving movement in those over 50 years of age through the Fitter For Life program (As seen on Channel 7, 9 and 10). Our accredited coaches utilise the fundamental basics of Gymnastics to deliver a low impact movement class, filled with fun exercises to get you moving and thinking! 

The program focuses on developing:
Strength
Balance
Hand, Eye and Foot Coordination
Range of Motion

50 Plus Fitter is affiliated with Gymnastics Queensland and is the only club of its kind, dedicated completely to engaging adults in physical activity and promoting FUNctional fitness. Although you won't find any handstands or cartwheels in our classes, we are committed to turning around the idea that there is an age limit for gymnastics. Join us for a trial class to experience the fun, fitness and friendship that 50 Plus Fitter has to offer.

Covid-19 UPDATE JULY 2020:
In line with the National Principles for the Resumption of Sport and Recreation Activities (health.gov.au) and the AIS Guidelines for the Rebooting of Sport, 50 Plus Fitter will be implementing the below actions:
  • Classes have recommenced at all venues
  • Classes are to be capped as per spacing available at each venue
  • All participants must book in to attend a class and advise if they are unable to attend
  • Enter and leave via the only point of entry/exit and do not congregate at doorway entrances or hallways
  • Upon entry, all participants agree that they are not experiencing flu like symptoms, have not been overseas or in contact with any confirmed Covid-19 cases in the past 14 days
  • Once class has finished, all participants are to exit promptly
  • Before, during (where appropriate) and after each class, all equipment, seating and surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected.
  • Equipment is not to be shared amongst participants
  • Before and after each class, all participants are required to wash their hands with soap and water at the facilities provided
  • During class each participant will be required to sanitise their hands. Sanitiser will be provided. If a participant has their own sanitiser they are encouraged to use it during class.
  • Participants must bring their own water bottle to class. There will be no use of cups at the venues.
  • Chairs are to be used as a marker for the area in which participants are able to perform exercises, any other areas of use will be clearly marked with cones/markers to ensure space between exercises (e.g. for circuit classes)
  • Each participant will be reminded of the 1.5m distance rule throughout the lesson.
  • Coaches will be able to be within 1.5m of a participant for spotting purposes.
  • Participants who demonstrate any signs of illness will not be able to participate in classes and are encouraged to stay home.
  • Coaches who demonstrate any signs of illness will not be able to run class and will advise participants who are booked in accordingly ​
